Bob Arum is a boxing promoter and manager. He is also the founder and CEO of boxing promotion company, Top Rank.
Top Rank is one of boxing's big three global promotional companies, alongside Eddie Hearn's Matchroom and Frank Warren's Queensbury.
Arum is from New York City, specifically Crown Heights, and has a background in law, serving as an attorney in the US Department of Justice under JFK.
He became a boxing promoter in 1966, after watching Ernest Terrell v George Chuvalo and being introduced to Muhammad Ali by former American Footballer Jim Brown. Arum credits Ali with teaching him how to be a promoter in the world of boxing.
