Blackburn Rovers are reportedly attempting to complete a deal to sign former Leicester City striker Jordan Ayew.
Journalist Alan Nixon has reported the news of Blackburn's interest in the forward as manager Tony Mowbray looks to add another attacking option.
Blackburn were only able to add four players to their ranks during the summer transfer window, which has been a source of frustration for both Mowbray and the club's supporters.
The transfer window shut last week but clubs are still able to sign free agents and Ayew falls into that category after leaving Leicester at the end of last season.
Ayew joined Leicester for a fee of £5 million from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024.
The Senegalese forward had scored just 21 goals in 187 appearances for the Eagles and his output in front of goal didn't improve at the King Power Stadium.
Ayew scored 12 goals across two seasons that ended in relegation for the Foxes, as the club slipped from the Premier League to League One.
Now 34 years old, Ayew could provide Blackburn with an additional option as they look to climb the Championship table.
