Birmingham City League One Odds: Blues 4/9 to be promoted

In the third tier for the first time since 1995, Birmingham City are plotting an immediate return to the Championship and the Blues are 11/8 favourites to win the League One title.

The Birmingham job marks Chris Davies' first managerial position having accumulated 14 years of experience as an assistant to Brendan Rodgers at Swansea City, Liverpool, Celtic and Leicester City, before teaming up with Ange Postecoglou at Spurs in June 2023.

Davies has overseen a major squad revamp and Birmingham haven't been afraid to splash the cash in the summer window, initially breaking the League One transfer record twice in the space of as many days with the additions of Willum Willumsson from Go Ahead Eagles and Christoph Klarer from Darmstadt.

Prolific goalscorer Alfie May made the switch from Charlton in an undisclosed deal before Davies' squad was further bolstered by the arrivals of the likes of Emil Hansson and Alex Cochrane.

Deadline day saw Tomoki Iwata join from Celtic before former loanee Jay Stansfield arrived from Fulham in a reported £15million deal that shattered the previous transfer record and sent shockwaves throughout the league.
