bet365’s Bundesliga Team of the Season

The Bundesliga is home to some of Europe's elite, and while questions have been asked regarding the competitiveness of the league, said questions are starting to reduce given Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen's captivating battle.

Leverkusen won their first ever Bundesliga in the 2023/24 campaign with an invincible season, though Bayern have reclaimed top spot in an impressive debut season for Vincent Kompany.

Meanwhile, the UEFA Champions League spots remain up for grabs in what's set to be an entertaining end to the season.

Here is bet365's Bundesliga Team of the Season.

Bundesliga

Peter Gulacsi (GK)

Peter Gulacsi has been a dependable servant since joining the club in 2015, having registered over 300 appearances in this period.

In a season where RB Leipzig haven't necessarily impressed, the Hungarian has kept 13 clean sheets up to now, more than any other goalkeeper in the division. Manuel Neuer is unfortunate to miss out, but his lack of availability in a league winning campaign costs him a place in the side.

Jeremie Frimpong (RB)

While Jeremie Frimpong's numbers don't quite account to what he achieved in Leverkusen's 2023/24 invincible season, it has by no means been an underwhelming season for the Dutchman, hence the reported interest from top sides around Europe, including Arne Slot's Liverpool.

He has still recorded 10 goal contributions up to now in a more advanced role at right wing-back, thriving in one v one scenarios.

Jonathan Tah (CB)

Both Bayern Munich central defenders are unlucky to miss the cut, but Jonathan Tah's overall presence at Bayer Leverkusen earns him a spot in this side.

An imposing defender with undeniable attributes on the ball, Tah is in the top five percentile for pass completion amongst central defenders in Europe's top five leagues.

Nico Schlotterbeck (CB)

While Borussia Dortmund haven't had the best of campaigns, Nico Schlotterbeck's all-round attributes solidify him a spot in our Bundesliga Team of the Season.

An elite understanding of the game, persistent in duels and supremely talented in possession, the German possesses very few weaknesses and will likely attract interest in the coming transfer window.

Alejandro Grimaldo (LB)

Alejandro Grimaldo, like Frimpong, thrives in a more advanced role on the left flank, notching eight assists and netting two goals in 30 Bundesliga contests.

The Spaniard is arguably one of the most gifted full-backs in Europe for creating chances, featuring in the first percentile for shot-creating actions amongst players in his position.

Joshua Kimmich (DM)

Joshua Kimmich epitomizes consistency. Very few players master the basics of football quite like the versatile German, who has a knack for breaking up and dictating play.

Almost everything that Bayern Munich do comes through Kimmich, capable of effortlessly playing between the lines in order to progress his side further up the pitch.

A midfield maestro who would arguably start for almost every team in world football.

Angelo Stiller (DM)

Just under two years ago, Stuttgart lost a midfielder to the Premier League in the form of Wataru Endo. History could be set to repeat itself with Angelo Stiller in the summer, with the German reportedly attracting interest from Liverpool, and it's clear to see why.

Stiller possesses a similar passing range to Kimmich, always looking to play forward and on the front foot. He takes up the second defensive midfield role in our Team of the Season.

Michael Olise (RW)

Michael Olise has been one of, if not the best performer in the Bundesliga since arriving from Crystal Palace, having hit double figures in both goals and assists.

Incredibly direct with the beating of any defender in the division, the Frenchman has added a new dimension to an already ruthless Bayern Munich forward line.

Florian Wirtz (AM)

While Jamal Musiala is undoubtedly unfortunate to miss out, his injury record has done him no favours in breaking into this team.

With that said, Florian Wirtz has more than impressed in a campaign that has seemingly attracted the interest of some of Europe's elite, including Manchester City and Bayern Munich if reports are to be believed.

Having recorded double figures in goals and assists in the Bundesliga, Wirtz's inclusion is self explanatory.

Xavi Simons (LW)

Despite spending a few months out of the side through injury in the latter months of 2024, Xavi Simons has still contributed to 16 goals in 23 games in the league, a record that could captivate appeal from some of the continent's biggest outfits.

Perhaps one of his most impressive games of the season came against league winners Bayern Munich, registering two important assists in a 3-3 draw.

Harry Kane (ST)

Undoubtedly the easiest selection of the bunch, Harry Kane takes the striker spot, scoring 24 goals and assisting nine times up to now.

While Kane's position in this team is indisputable, the Bundesliga has been home to a number of top centre forwards this term, including Serhou Guirassy, Patrik Schick and Benjamin Sesko.

Honourable mentions

  • Kim Min-jae
  • Dayot Upamecano
  • Jamal Musiala
  • Serhous Guirassy
  • Patrik Schick
  • Benjamin Sesko
  • Hugo Ekitike
  • Tim Kleindienst
  • Vincenzo Grifo
