bet365 Mile Odds: Nostrum and Lord North amongst leading contenders

The bet365 Mile is one of the main attractions at Sandown on Friday, with the likes of Nostrum and Lord North expected to challenge.

Won by Mutasaabeq in 2023, the Group Two race has attracted a field of seven contenders for this year's renewal as the UK Flat season begins to gather pace.

Nostrum is one of the market leaders and Sir Michael Stoute will be hopeful that he can repeat his 2022 and 2023 feats by winning on his seasonal return for a third time.

The four-year-old was last seen when last of six in the Strensall Stakes at York last August but he won at Newmarket earlier in the season and then finished a narrow second to Epictetus at Glorious Goodwood.

Three-time Dubai Turf champion and last year's Winter Derby winner Lord North could be in his last season for John and Thady Gosden, but connections will be hopeful that he can replicate past glories at Sandown this week.

A victory for Witch Hunter would be a record-extending ninth win in the race for the family of Richard Hannon, while Charyn arguably arrives in the best form after winning the Doncaster Mile last month.
