Speaking to bet365 about the survey results for the Golden Boot question John Barnes MBE said: “Of course, you ought to look at the usual suspects. You've got Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi at Argentina. I wouldn't say they're dark horses because they're one of the favourites, but I think that depending on how well England do - Kane should be up there.
“Mbappe is obviously going to be up there as well, but Messi is my favourite player of modern times. I've got a sneaky feeling about Lionel for this World Cup.”
Breaking down the results by each fan nation, we found that England fans were most confident in the striking prowess of Harry Kane, with 21.24% putting their faith in the Three Lions captain.
Harry Kane is currently priced at 7/1 to win the Golden Boot with bet365, with a bet boost of 9/1. Follow this link here to see live odds and prices for Kane and all other Golden Boot contenders: World Cup 2022 Top Scorer Odds.
