The Charlie Appleby-trained Native Approach is at the top of the betting for the bet365 Craven Stakes at Newmarket on Thursday afternoon.
The three-year-old Godolphin colt has had two outings so far in his career, finishing second on his all-weather debut at Kempton in January, before going one better when returning over a mile a month later.
William Buick was the jockey for his first victory and he will be on board once again for the historic race on the Rowley Mile.
The bet365 Craven Stakes is a traditional trial for the 2000 Guineas, with a number of previous winners going on to compete in the Classic at Newmarket.
However, some horses can take a different route such as Masar who went on to win the Epsom Derby in 2018.
Native Approach is currently 40/1 to win the 2000 Guineas in May and his odds could shorten if he is victorious at Newmarket this week.
