Our resident boxing expert Rob Tebbutt looks ahead to the return of Ben Whittaker on Saturday night and divulges details of where he feels the betting value can be found across 'The Surgeon's' light-heavyweight dust-up with unbeaten Nigerian, Ezra Arenyeka.
Ben Whittaker is, of course, one of the most-talked about fighters in British boxing, and we see his return to action against Ezra Arenyeka as part of the undercard for Chris Billam-Smith v Richard Riakporhe 2.
Whittaker is one of the most highly touted prospects in world boxing right now, and we have seen him going vital for his in-ring antics in recent months, and I am expecting more of the same on Saturday night.
This will be Whittaker's first ten-rounder, but I expect the fight to play out in almost identical fashion to how all of his previous professional bouts have to date, with another dominant performance.
Arenyeka will come forward and look to put the pressure on, but ultimately he will be out-gunned and out-skilled by his opponent.
Given the fact that this is a ten-rounder, I am anticipating Ben Whittaker taking his time a little bit, and slowly break Arenyeka down during those middle rounds.
I feel he will take a good look at Arenyeka early on, maybe give fans a bit of showboating before going through the gears and closing the show somewhere between rounds five and eight.
