The promoters of Ben Whittaker and Liam Cameron remain at loggerheads as they struggle to come to an agreement surrounding the length of their hugely-anticipated light-heavyweight rematch on Easter Sunday.
The pair are set to top the BOXXER's upcoming fight bill in Birmingham this weekend, but a resolution on whether the fight will be staged over 10 rounds or 12 rounds is still rumbling on.
BOXXER, the promotional company behind Whittaker, made an 'administration error' when sending the fight contract over to Cameron's team, with the fight length stipulating 12 rounds instead of the 10 in which was included in the Walsall star's contract.
Speaking at the time, BOXXER promoter, and founder, Ben Shalom told talkSPORT: "Ben Whittaker v Liam Cameron 2 is a 10-round fight - In the first instance, there was an admin error in the office with the paperwork.
"I think it was a couple of days when it was noticed, and to be honest, as sensible partners, I thought it'd be all worked out quickly, and it seemed like it was getting worked out.
"They wanted extra money and compensation, and we agreed to that, and we felt like we moved on from that. They're agreeing on something, and then looking to draw it out as long as possible.
"That's what has happened now a couple of times; they want to play games and mess us around!"
However, with Cameron signing the contract, BOXXER's request to alter the length back to the originally planned 10 rounds has, according to the fighter, so far fallen on deaf ears.
Speaking on DAZN's Ariel Helwani Show, Cameron said: "To my knowledge, it's a 12 rounder, so I don't know any different to that.
"It's a hard one to talk about as I don't want to get myself in trouble, but I signed a 12 round contract, and when I did that I thought it was strange as he (Ben Whittaker) was tired after five rounds last time.
"Then a week later we got a request to change it to a 10 round fight because there had been a mishap, and we have said no."
