Ballyburn 10/1 to win the 2025 Champion Hurdle after winning Gallagher Novices' Hurdle

We have priced up Ballyburn at 10/1 to win the 2025 Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival following a scintillating performance in the Gallagher Novices' Hurdle on Wednesday afternoon.

Willie Mullins' six-year-old arrived at Prestbury Park in fine form following back-to-back wins at Leopardstown either side of the new year, which included an eye-catching Grade 1 triumph last time out.

He went off as the 1/2 favourite to win the race and the justification was evident as he sauntered home to give Mullins a staggering 98th Cheltenham Festival winner.

He was priced up at 25/1 to win next the 2025 Champion Hurdle before Wednesday's racing got underway, and his odds have been cut to 10/1 following an impressive performance, which was worthy of the Champion Hurdle according to Mullins.

Next year's opening Championship race is already shaping up to be a fascinating spectacle as this year's winner State Man and Mares' Hurdle victor Lossiemouth are already being backed to feature in Tuesday's main attraction.

There is also the small matter of Constitution Hill's probable return to the Cheltenham Festival, and he will be the one to beat providing he stays over hurdles in 2024.
