Ballon d'Or odds: Jude Bellingham 5/2 favourite following El Clasico winner

Jude Bellingham is the 5/2 favourite to win the 2024 Ballon d'Or following his winning goal for Real Madrid against Barcelona in El Clasico.

Signed from Borussia Dortmund last summer for an initial £88.5m, Bellingham has made a sensational impact at Real Madrid as Los Blancos' top goalscorer in all competitions this term from midfield.

With Real Madrid currently 11 points clear at the top of La Liga and through to the Champions League semi-finals, Bellingham could be primed for a trophy-laden first campaign in Spain before he sets off to the Euros with England this summer.

With the Ballon d'Or typically awarded to players who win the biggest trophies on offer in the footballing calendar - for example the Champions League and Euros in 2024 - it is no surprise to see Bellingham leading the betting as things stand.

Real Madrid are now the 7/5 favourites to win a record-extending 15th Champions League title after Carlo Ancelotti's side knocked out Manchester City in the quarter-finals, whilst England are the outright favourites at 10/3 to win this summer's Euros in Germany.

Should Bellingham get his hands on both prestigious prizes, he is likely to take some beating in the Ballon d'Or reckoning.

A potential opponent for Bellingham's Real Madrid in this season's Champions League final, PSG talisman Kylian Mbappe is second favourite for the 2024 Ballon d'Or at 11/4.

Having enjoyed a terrific club campaign for Ligue 1 champions-elect PSG, with Luis Enrique's charges also through to the semi-finals of this year's Champions League where they will face Borussia Dortmund, Mbappe is another player with his eyes on the biggest trophies the sport has to offer.

As captain of France, second favourites to win the Euros this summer at 7/2, Mbappe looks to have a realistic chance of receiving the first Ballon d'Or of his career.

Other leading contenders in the Ballon d'Or betting include England captain Harry Kane (7/1) and Manchester City trio Erling Haaland (10/1), Phil Foden (10/1) and Rodri (12/1).
