The prestigious annual Ballon d'Or ceremony marked its 70th year by once again recognising the world's best footballing talent.

Widely viewed as the pinnacle of individual prizes for professional footballers, this year's edition of the Ballon d'Or was staged at the London Palladium Theatre.

The ceremony recognised players who excelled during the 2025/26 season, and individuals were ranked based on performances, impressive character, collective performances and titles won, along with their attitude and fair play.

Not only was the coveted Ballon d'Or and Ballon d'Or Feminin up for grabs, but there were 11 more awards to be dished out.

The Kopa Trophy recognises the best players under 21 years old, while the Yashin Trophy is given to the best goalkeeper across the last year. The Gerd Muller Trophy falls into the hands of the world's best striker and the Johan Cruyff Trophy is awarded to the best coach.

There was also the men's and women's Club of the Year gong, along with the Socrates Award, which is handed to the player who's undertaken the best humanatarian work.
