Betting has been suspended on Ayyoub Bouaddi's next club with Manchester City finalising a deal for the Lille midfielder.
The 18-year-old made the surprise move to turn down his native France to represent Morocco at senior level, but the decision was justified as Bouaddi impressed at the 2026 World Cup.
There had already been plenty of attention on the midfielder prior to this summer's showpiece, with the Lille president Olivier Letang declaring that €50m wouldn't be enough to pry the starlet away.
Bouaddi certainly enhanced his valuation with his performances in the United States, and it's thought the fee will now push nine figures, with Manchester City moving to the front of the queue to secure his services.
The prodigious midfielder is considered the long-term successor to Rodri, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid. The 2026 World Cup Golden Ball winner is expected to miss the opening weeks of the new Premier League season after undergoing minor back surgery.
