Dutchman Gian van Veen is the favourite to claim his first professional victory on the European Tour, as the PDC arrowsmiths head to Graz in Austria for the fifth event of the season.
The 23-year-old won his first senior tournament last month at the Player Championship 6, when he defeated world number one Luke Humphries in the final, and that victory could spur van Veen on to secure more titles in the near future.
There are a number of big players absent from the action in Austria this time around, including star names Humphries, Luke Littler, and Michael van Gerwen.
Those absentees will open the door for others to lift the trophy at the Premstattner Halle, including Premier League Darts trio Stephen Bunting, Nathan Aspinall and Chris Dobey, who are all prominent in the betting behind van Veen.
'The Ferret' Johnny Clayton has won the last two editions of the Austrian Open and is the top seed in Graz this time around. Welshman Clayton is fifth favourite to land a third consecutive title and claim the £30,000 prize fund for the tournament winner.
