Wales are 9/2 to end their 55-year drought against Australia when they head Down Under for the first of a two-Test series in Sydney.

Wales have not won on Australian soil against the Wallabies since 1969, having lost 11 successive matches. They came agonisingly close to breaking that spell on their last trip to Oz, losing 20-19 in 2012.
The Dragons were emphatic winners in their last meeting against Australia. A 40-6 victory at the 2023 World Cup signalled the end of Eddie Jones' tenure as Wallabies boss, with the Aussies crashing out at the pool stage for the first time in their history.

Wales head to the southern hemisphere in terrible form having lost seven consecutive international matches, which includes a dismal run at this year's Six Nations where they finished bottom for the first time since 2003.
It's been a transitional period for Warren Gatland, having contended with a spate of international retirements and numerous injury setbacks. He hopes to have found a solution to a problem position at fly-half, with Gatland making the surprise decision to select Ben Thomas over Sam Castelow.
