With defending champion and seven-time winner Novak Djokovic withdrawing from the event due to injury, the door has been prised open for a new name to potentially get their hands on the ATP Finals trophy.

Alexander Zverev, who won the competition twice before in 2018 and 2021, saw his hopes of a third title ended by Taylor Fritz, with the American prevailing in three sets.

World number one Jannik Sinner was the favourite heading into the tournament and the Italian has justified his favouritism by advancing to the knockout stages without dropping a set.
