Real Madrid will look to seal their passage into the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League when taking on rivals Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

Carlo Ancelotti's side took an early lead through Rodrygo with Julian Alvarez equalising before Brahim Diaz's superb winner gave the defending champions a lead to take into the second leg.

It was the first time in 10 meetings that Real had beaten their rivals inside 90 minutes after three successive 1-1 draws, with the onus now on Diego Simeone's men to get a result.
