Aston Villa 50/1 to win the 2024/25 Champions League

We have priced up Aston Villa at 50/1 to win the 2024/25 Champions League ahead of their return to the top table of European football.

The 1982 European Cup winners have not featured in the leading European club competition since the 1982/83 season, when they reached the quarter-finals in an attempt to defend their crown.

Under the stewardship of the astute Unai Emery, Aston Villa were one of the surprise packages of the 2023/24 campaign as they finished fourth in the Premier League to qualify for next year's Champions League.

The likes of John McGinn, Ollie Watkins, Emiliano Martinez, Douglas Luiz and Leon Bailey have become household names at Villa Park, and they will relish taking on the continent's biggest clubs next season.

In Emery, the Villans have a four-time Europa League winner and they will be hopeful that his tactical nous can help them negotiate a group which will almost certainly feature a couple of European powerhouses.

At odds of 50/1, there isn't much expectation on Aston Villa in the 2024/25 Champions League, but with a raucous home support behind them and one or two signings, they could spring a few more surprises next season.
