Arsenal have completed the signing of Real Sociedad midfielder on a long-term contract.
The Gunners have been admirers of Zubimendi for a considerable period of time with links to the Basque midfielder surfacing last summer.
Rumours of Arsenal's pursuit for Zubimendi gathered pace once again in the January transfer window, but the player opted to see out the season in San Sebastian before considering his options at the end of the campaign.
The deal has appeared to be on the verge of completion for a while, but was officially confirmed on Sunday 6th July and the 26-year-old has spoken to his delight to make the move to North London.
“This is a huge moment in my career. It's the move I was looking for and one I wanted to make. As soon as you set foot here, you realise how big this club and this team are.
“I set my sights on Arsenal because their style of play is a good fit for me. They have shown their potential recently and the best is yet to come.” said Zubimendi to the club website.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has outlined how he feels the midfielder can add to his side: “Martin is a player who will bring a huge amount of quality and football intelligence to our team. He will fit in really well and he has all the attributes to be a key player for us."
Many will now be expecting Arsenal to turn their attention towards signing a striker and making a real statement ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
