Arne Slot was unable to provide an update on the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold before labelling him an 'incredible full-back' ahead of Liverpool's trip to Leicester on Sunday.
Alexander-Arnold's contract expires in the summer and reports suggested last month that he had agreed a deal to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.
If the 26-year-old is to leave at the conclusion of his contract, it would mean ending a 21-year association with his boyhood club.
Despite the swirling rumours, Slot was complimentary about the right-back.
The Dutchman said, "Trent is coming back from an injury. He trained with us yesterday and every time he plays with us or trains with us, he shows his commitment.
"He has worked so hard to be back already now and the moment he is on the pitch, he shows me what a great football player he is and how much he is involved in us trying to achieve our goals this season."
Adding, "The fans of Liverpool, everyone who watches football over the last five, six or seven years knows he's been an incredible full-back for this football club. Let's see what the future brings."
Speculation over Alexander-Arnold's future comes off the back of a week where both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk signed new deals at Anfield.
The trio's contract situation has been a core theme running through Liverpool's season, but they can rest a little easier now two have committed their future to the club.
When asked about what the deals say about Liverpool, Slot was full of positivity.
Saying, "It tells you we want to keep our best players, the players that have played a great season for so many years in a row now, and that we are able to keep them when we are free agents tells you the amazing ambitions we have for the upcoming years.
I'm really happy both of them [Salah and Van Dijk] extended. We spoke about Mo last week, and Virgil has been so important for us defensively, offensively, in and around the dressing room. Great personality and a great football player."
Liverpool can clinch the Premier League title on Sunday with a win at Leicester but only if Arsenal are defeated by Ipswich earlier in the afternoon.
If not this weekend, it is surely a matter of time before Liverpool are crowned champions of England for the 20th time.
