Derby contender Arabian Crown favourite to win bet365 Classic Trial

Arabian Crown is set to make his eagerly anticipated seasonal bow in the bet365 Classic Trial on Friday afternoon.

The Godolphin colt heads to Sandown as the Evs favourite to triumph over eight rivals in the Group 3 1m2f race, which is a traditional trial for the Epsom Derby.

Adayar, who was second in the bet365 Classic Trial in 2021, is the last participant to go on to win the Derby and Arabian Crown could put himself in the frame to follow suit this week.

Charlie Appleby's horse won three of his four starts during an impressive juvenile campaign which culminated in a sensational performance in the Zetland Stakes on Future Champions Day at Newmarket.

Regular rider William Buick is back on board for the trip to Sandown and if his reapparance is a winning one, the 12/1 price for the Derby in June could shorten considerably.
