Manchester City have suffered a blow with the news that Antoine Semenyo is set to spend eight weeks sidelined through injury.
The Ghanaian was benched for City's clash with Ipswich Town at the weekend, but was introduce in the closing stages only to immediately pick up an injury.
While the injury isn't as severe as first feared, Semenyo is set to miss the next couple of months.
Speaking before Manchester City's UEFA Champions League tie with AEK Athens, Enzo Maresca said: "In the first moment, we expected a worse injury. After yesterday's scan, we will feel better. It will be eight weeks, so when he is back in December, it will be like a new player. Not muscular. To lose Antoine, or any player, is not good.'
While an ACL injury would have seen Semenyo miss the rest of the season, his current injury could see him return before Christmas. Semenyo is expected to miss the trips to Arsenal and Barcelona and the home game with Chelsea will likely come too soon. Semenyo's return looks set to be Hull City on 19th December.
