Anthony Joshua will embark upon the latest chapter of his glittering boxing career when he tackles the dangerous Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia later this month.

The Watford man hasn't fought since emphatically stopping Jake Paul last December, producing a barnstorming finish to see off the spirited American in the fifth round.

In the days after that fight, AJ was involved in a fatal car crash that tragically took the lives of two of his closest aides and coaching team members, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.

The two-time unified heavyweight rule was left contemplating his career in the sport in the aftermath of the incident, but has since announced plans to fight on in their honour, with a long-mooted domestic dust-up with Tyson Fury seemingly in the offering for November.

However, before then, the 36-year-old will undertake a tune-up against Albanian power-puncher Prenga, who has won all 20 of his professional bouts inside the distance.

The dust-up is scheduled to take place on Saturday 25th July, just 24 hours after Fury faces off against Mariusz Wach in a warm-up fight of his own.

Whilst the Gypsy King won't be earning any momey from his outing - instead opting to donate it to charity - Joshua is in-line for another handsome pay day.

No official details have been revealed regarding the full fight purse for Anthony Joshua vs Kristian Prenga although estimates suggest that it sits at around £5 million.

For Joshua, it will represent a relatively modest fee, but for the Albanian underdog, it will be by far the most significant pay cheque of his career.

Whilst AJ has earned significant sums of money for his plethora of heavyweight world title fights in the past, this will be, by far, Prenga's highest profile dust-up to date.

He will be rewarded for that with his biggest pay day too, with estimates suggesting he is in-line to earn around £1 million for tackling one of the sport's biggest names in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking on the Ariel Helwani boxing show recently, American promoter Lou DiBella said: "Kristian Prenga knows he has just hit the lottery.

"I have heard he is being paid seven-figures, and if what I have heard he is getting is actually what he is getting, then one-tenth of his purse for this fight will be worth more than everything he has earned across his professional boxing career to date!"

No official fees have been made public, but it's anticipated Joshua will earn around £4 million for his upcoming fight.

That will dwarf the estimated £1 million Prenga will earn, but falls significantly short of the rumoured £250 million he will pick up if and when he undertakes his colossal clash with Fury later this year.
