The majority of bet365 punters are backing Anthony Joshua to overcome Tyson Fury in an eagerly anticipated all-British showdown on 11th December.
After years of meaningless talk, promoter squabbles and 'Gypsy King' retirements, legitimate negotiations regarding a fight between Fury and Joshua finally commenced earlier this year.
Fury kept up his end of the deal when overcoming Mariusz Wach in a fight that was billed as a Joshua tune-up on 24th July, but just hours later the prospective all-British clash was in jeopardy when Kristian Prenga dropped AJ in the first round of their fight in Jeddah.
After a dramatic opening few minutes, Joshua turned the tide in the second round to record an emphatic knockout victory.
With both fighters coming through their warm up bouts unscathed -- just about in the case of Joshua -- talks intensified, and a breakthrough was finally reached on Thursday 24th September.
Any prior obstacles have been cleared, and the two fighters will lock horns at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on Friday 11th December, with the start time yet to be confirmed.
Joshua has been backed to overcome Fury when the two lock horns in December, with 55% of the To Win Fight bets placed on AJ.
AJ avoided too much criticism against Prenga due to the manner in which he knocked out the Albanian in the second round, but he did come under fire when taking six rounds to dispose of YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in December 2025.
Those backing Joshua to prevail in Cardiff will hope that his prolonged victory over Paul was a choice after such a lengthy spell away from the ring, rather than an inability to knock the American out sooner.
He is priced as the 13/8 underdog to emerge victorious against the 'Gypsy King' later this year, and bet365 punters sense value.
There's very little to go off with respect to Fury's behind closed doors victory over journeyman Mariusz Wach in July, but he did look sharp in his wide unanimous decision win over Arslanbek Makhmudov in April.
The former two-time world heavyweight champion last won via stoppage in December 2022 against Derek Chisora, but the odds-on favourite will be desperate to test Joshua's chin after his early scare against Prenga.
