Angela Cullen - Lewis Hamilton influence

Cullen became Hamilton's physiotherapist and performance assistant in 2016.

Forging a strong bond with the former Mercedes driver, Cullen was frequently seen alongside Hamilton at race weekends.

Not only was she responsible for enhancing Hamilton's physical performance, but she played a vital role in maintaining his mental wellbeing over the course of an incredibly demanding season.

Cullen even inserted Pilates and Yoga routines into Hamilton's routines, with the Brit embracing the impact of body-mind exercises on his ability to sustain elite performance in F1.

Speaking of Cullen in 2020, Hamilton said: “People for sure won’t understand it, naturally, because they see it from a distance, but she has been one of the greatest things that’s happened to me in my life.

“I’ve been fortunate to work with a lot of people… and she’s the single hardest-working woman that I get to be around.

“She’s focused, selfless, and she makes my weekends peaceful,” Hamilton added. “Every day I wake up, whatever time it is, she’s just positive – never a single day has she been negative, so that’s very, very important.

“I think it’s important in life to put positive people around you. You can’t be going around with deadweights, you can’t be going around with people who don’t inspire you to be better and lift you up when you’re down. You need to be around people who can do that for you, and she’s one of them.”

When reciting their split in 2023, Hamilton stated: "Angela is living her life right now. She's got so many ideas of things she wants to do. We message pretty much every day. We are still going to skydive together. We are always going to be in each other's lives.

"We're stuck with each other, unfortunately, or fortunately! We've been through thick and thin. I am grateful our relationship is as good as it is. We've probably had one of the longest relationships I would say in the sport. I am incredibly grateful for her, I love her dearly."
