Andrea Kimi Antonelli's meteoric rise to Formula 1 has been nothing short of sensational but the prodigious Italian arrives at Mercedes with immense expectation
If representing the eight-time constructors' champions wasn't challenging enough, Antonelli steps into the void left by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Antonelli, whose second name 'Kimi' is of no relation to the 2007 F1 world champion Kimi Raikkonen, is an Italian racing driver who's enjoyed an astronomical rise from karting to the pinnacle of motorsport.
The son of sportscar racer Marco, Antonelli will contest the 2025 F1 season on behalf of Mercedes alongside George Russell.
A prolific karting career resulted in Antonelli appearing on Mercedes' radar at the age of 12, by which he point he had won championships at multiple national and continental categories.
At 15, Antonelli made his bow in the Italian F4 Championship and race victories soon followed. He would later compete in the ADAC F4 Championship, along with the Formula Regional Middle East and European categories but whichever championship he contested, the flurry of wins remained a constant.
Having bagged both the Italian and German F4 titles in the same season, transitioning into F3 seemed the next logical step.
However, management at Mercedes decided to bypass F3 in favour of accelerating Antonelli's development with a spot in F2 with Prema Racing.
The Italian's start to life in the second tier was solid, if unspectacular, but it all appeared to click midway through the season as Antonelli clocked up a rain-affected victory at Silverstone in the sprint race before taking the chequered flag at the Hungaroring in the feature race.
Antonelli compiled enough evidence in the second half of the F2 season to suggest to Toto Wolff he was ready.
Officially announced as a Mercedes driver shortly after his 18th birthday ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, Antonelli debuted for the Silver Arrows in the FP1 session at Monza but suffered a heavy crash which wiped a little gloss off the news.
Antonelli would make another appearance in Mexico, which went far smoother than his debut run as he tallied up the miles ahead of his first F1 season in 2025.

Antonelli is an Italian racing driver who was born and raised in Bologna.
Antonelli's net worth is currently unknown.
Praised for the calmness beyond his years, Antonelli's raw speed and adaptability will be key if he is to flourish in his maiden F1 campaign.
The Italian has an aggressive style to low-speed corners and prefers an oversteering car, which draws similarities to Max Verstappen's driving style in which he will test the limits of a cars grip.
There is no doubt he has the talent, the ability, the skills.
