Iraola was in no doubt whether or not there was intent in the flailing elbow that left Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott with a fractured jaw.
The Spaniard continued: "The value of a red card in the sixth minute or the 80th minute is very different. He sees Alex coming and for me it is very dangerous.
"I hope he can finish the season but I really don't know. He was almost knocked out. After the elbow we didn't know if he could continue. He wanted to continue but he was not 100%. It (was) a very violent elbow."
21-year-old Scott went down early in the game after the incident and required lengthy treatment before going down a second time under challenge from Amadou Onana.
The midfielder was subsequently replaced at half-time.
VAR did check the earlier incident between Mings and Scott but they did not deem it worthy of further action after a foul was awarded in Bournemouth's favour.
Aston Villa were reduced to 10-men later in the game after Jacob Ramsey picked up a second yellow for a foul in the 80th minute.
It would not stop his side taking all three points back to the Midlands, however.
Ollie Watkins became Villa's all-time leading Premier League goalscorer after his strike in first-half added time went without response.
Victory was vital for the away side with the race for UEFA Champions League football entering it's most vital period.
With an eighth place finish no longer a possibility for Villa it does mean that they are certain to play some form of European football next season. News that delighted Unai Emery.
He said, "Fantastic to be in Europe, it is the third year in a row. I am enjoying the momentum we are in.
"Players are taking the commitment we need to fight to again be in the top positions in the table. Today we showed it."
