Iwo Baraniewski will look to earn a place in the light heavyweight rankings when he takes on Alonzo Menifield this weekend.
The decorated judoka has emerged as one of the most exciting prospects at 205lbs in recent years, having finished all of his opponents in the first round en route to recording a perfect 9-0 record.
With the division crying out for new blood Baraniewski could soon find himself in title contention but first he will need to get past the experienced veteran Menifield.
Menfield is no stranger to upsetting the odds, having beaten heavy favourite Zhang Mingyang in his most recent outing, but MMA expert Adam Catterall insisted that he will be unable to halt Baraniewski's momentum when they meet inside the Octagon.
"This is where you're absolutely guaranteed carnage on this card," Catterall said on bet365 Cageside.
"Iwo Baraniewski is nine fights into his professional career, he's finished everybody. Whether it be by knockout or submission, he's getting people out of there.
"He's taking on Alonzo Menifield who is an elder statesman, a veteran of the game, a man who has been there and done it and got the t-shirt and only really lost to top opposition.
"Menifield is feeling himself at the moment having gone out to China and beaten the Mountain Tiger himself in Zhang Mingyang. That is a fantastic win, so he's coming into this fight with an awful lot of confidence.
"I think that experience might just be able to drag Iwo Baraniewski into a later stage than he's been used to in the UFC. He's first-round finish heavy, I think we might get into the second round here just because of Menifield's experience.
"It's going to be tasty, it's going to be explosive, it's going to be chaotic and I'm going to go for a second-round finish victory for Iwo Baraniewski.
"I know there's a lot of hype about him and people might just think it is hype. I've watched this kid a few times, he is the real deal."
