On Saturday night Alexander Volkanovski will step in to the Octagon for the 19th time in a bid to further cement his legacy as one of the greatest fighters in the history of the sport.
Aging has rarely been kind to fighters in the UFC's lighter weight classes but Volk - who turned 38 last month - remains an anomaly as he looks to make history with an eighth title fight win at 145lbs.
Standing in his way is one of the boogeymen of the talent-stacked featherweight division, Movsar Evloev.
With an unblemished 20-0 record, Evloev's suffocating wrestling has proven unstoppable in the the UFC but MMA expert Adam Catterall insists the champion has what it takes to hold on to his title on Saturday night.
"Evloev is a good striker," Catterall said on bet365 Cageside. "He's not a great striker. I would say that Volkanovski is a great striker.
"Evloev is a great wrestler, Volkanovski is a good wrestler. That is where the key moment is going to lay in this particular fight.
"Can Volk keep the fight on its feet? If he can, then I think his wins this fight straightforwardly. If he can't, then all of a sudden Evloev is absolutely in business.
"His lack of finishes is worrying. If you're not going to finish Alexander Volkanovski, you are leaving him in there to be able to finish you. 25 minutes against that man is a very long time.
"Can Evloev get his first UFC finish in his first UFC title fight? I am edging towards that answer being no, mainly because Volk is in a flow state right now.
"His performance in the fight against Lopes last time out was elite-level IQ. I think we're going to get some elite-level IQ here as well, and I think Alexander Volkanovski is going to take this on points."
