Despite the new money brought by the club's Saudi ownership, Newcastle still have PSR rules to abide by, severely restricting their spending last summer, with Lewis Hall, Odysseas Vlachodimos and William Osula the only signings involving transfer fees, all of which were offset by the sales of Yankuba Minteh, Elliot Anderson and Miguel Almiron.
In the three seasons prior, Newcastle had a net spend of around £334m, and while there doesn't seem to be any immediate pressure to raise funds, reports of a £150m asking price would keep the Toon in the black for the foreseeable future, while providing funds to strengthen the squad.
Liverpool are one party reportedly interested in securing Isak's signature this summer, with Darwin Nunez's Anfield future looking increasingly uncertain after another disappointing campaign.
Arsenal, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with making a move for the Sweden international striker in the summer of 2025, with the Gunners more strongly linked of late.
bet365's Sports and Trading expert Steve Freeth said: "After his clinically taken winner for Newcastle in the EFL Cup final against Liverpool, punters think Isak could be the No.9 that the Gunners are crying out for."
