Alejandro Garnacho potential next club

Reports suggest that Chelsea are willing to sell Alejandro Garnacho in the summer transfer window after just one season with the club.

talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook reported that there's an acknowledgement within the club that the signing of the Argentine is simply "not working out".

Garnacho was taunted by Manchester United's travelling supporters in Chelsea's 1-0 defeat against the Red Devils at Stamford Bridge, having left the Manchester-based outfit on relatively toxic terms.

We take a look at which clubs could be in the market to sign the forward if Chelsea sanction his sale this summer.

Premier League

Napoli

Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna revealed that the club "made an important bid" to sign Garnacho in the 2024/25 January transfer window, but Man Utd's asking price and the Argentine's salary demands exceeded what the Italian outfit were willing to pay.

Garnacho ultimately left Old Trafford for £40m in August 2025, a fee significantly lower than what the Red Devils were reportedly demanding just seven months earlier, and perhaps a price that Napoli would have been willing to pay.

After an underwhelming debut campaign in blue, Chelsea are in no position to request an excessive price for the 21-year-old, but could a lower requested fee see Napoli return to the table?

Atletico Madrid

Emerging through the Atletico Madrid academy before making the switch to Manchester United's youth setup in 2020, could a return to the club be on the cards for the Spanish-speaking winger?

Shock reports in January implied that a temporary switch to Atletico was being discussed, and while the Blues opted against a swift exit, the Argentine's underwhelming campaign has prompted suggestions that his Chelsea spell won't surpass a year.

The Wanda Metropolitano is currently home to six Argentine players, with Julian Alvarez making the move from the Premier League in 2024. Could Atletico's Argentine contingent be extended in the summer transfer window?

Arsenal

Arsenal and Chelsea have been frequent business partners in more recent years, with Noni Maduke the most recent player to trade West London for North London.

While the Gunners have led the Premier League standings for much of the Premier League season, the general consensus remains that the North London outfit still lack attacking firepower.

It's hard to make a case that Garnacho would significantly improve their attacking output, but their loan punt on Raheem Sterling in the 2024/25 season suggests that they're willing to take a risk on players off the back of underwhelming seasons.
