Abdoulaye Doucoure potential next club

Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has been doing the rounds in the media recently, seemingly trying to sell himself to potential suitors.

The Mali international, who has featured 164 times for the Merseyside club, has appeared on Ben Foster's podcast, as well as Everton fan channel ToffeeTV, answering questions about his future.

In both appearances, he mentions that he already has offers on the table from around the world, but wouldn't reveal the interested clubs.

While Doucoure is on record stating that he would love to stay at Everton and is holding out for an offer, the club seem to be stalling over a contract, as they look ahead to a massive rebuild under David Moyes and new owners The Friedkin Group.

With a knack for scoring important goals - his half volley to keep the Toffees up against Bournemouth is etched in Goodison Park folklore - and limitless amounts of energy, the midfielder still has a lot to offer wherever he may end up.

We take a look at a handful of potential destinations for the 32-year-old.

Leeds United

Newly promoted Leeds United will be looking to bolster their squad in a bid to survive in the Premier League next season, so it's no surprise to see their name linked with a move for Doucoure.

He would tick a lot of boxes at Elland Road, as he has proven for Everton this season that he still has a lot to offer in England's top-flight.

The former Watford man has operated as both a number ten and a box-to-box midfielder for the Toffees, occasionally used as a battering ram in the second striker role as well. This versatility would be incredibly useful in the Leeds midfield.

On top of this, Doucoure has not only survived numerous relegation battles at his current club, but also played pivotal roles in them, scoring crucial goals and remaining fit enough to contribute towards the end of the season.

A newly promoted side such as Leeds could do with nous like this as they are likely to be in a similar situation come the end of the 2025/26 season.

Al-Shabab

The front-runners for Doucoure's signature appear to be Al-Shabab. According to Foot Mercato, the Saudi Pro League side have offered him a contract worth $4 million.

Al-Shabab would be adding some Premier League star power to a team that already contains some talented European players such as Yannick Carrasco, Giacomo Bonaventura, Daniel Podence and Glen Kamara.

Although, the Mali man has hinted that he would need to receive a better offer before considering a move to a gulf nation like Saudi Arabia or the UAE.

Instead, Doucoure appears to be waiting for offers from top-flight sides in England, France and Germany.

AS Roma

Italian side Roma showed some interest in Doucoure in the January transfer window following the sale of Enzo Le Fee to Sunderland.

It remains to be seen whether the Giallorossi are still interested in the summer, but there were rumours that they had decided to wait and see how the contract talks with Everton played out first, rather than paying a fee for the Mali international in January.

The Serie A side do have an impressive midfield, boasting players such as Alexis Saelemaekers, Bryan Cristante and Leandro Paredes, meaning Doucoure wouldn't be a guaranteed starter in the Italian capital.

He would however add depth to a midfield that are expected to do a lot of running in Claudio Ranieri's 3-4-2-1 set up.

An interesting note on this potential transfer. Everton's new owners, The Friedkin Group, are also the owners of Roma, so it will be interesting to see whether they offer Doucoure what he wants in Italy, if they reject those demands at Everton.
