Aston Villa are set to be without Aaron Wan-Bissaka for several weeks after he was forced off injured against Newcastle.
After starting on the left side of defence on Saturday, Wan-Bissaka limped off in the second half and was replaced by Tyrone Mings as the Villans claimed a 1-0 win at St James' Park.
The injury will come as a significant blow for Villa boss Unai Emery, with all three of the club's recognised senior options on the left side of defence now nursing injuries.
Ian Maatsen started the campaign as first-choice left-back but has been unavailable for more than a month as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury.
The Dutchman has since returned to first-team training but is unlikely to be ready to return for the club's UEFA Champions League clash with Viking FK on Wednesday.
Matteo Ruggeri had started the next two games in Maatsen's absence but suffered a hamstring injury against Brentford after the international break and now faces an extended spell on the sidelines of his own.
With Maatsen, Ruggeri and Wan-Bissaka all sidelined, Emery faces a selection dilemma as Villa look to continue their unbeaten European start in midweek.
With recent developments bordering on crisis levels at Villa Park, we've taken a look at when Wan-Bissaka will be back in action.
Speaking this week, Emery discussed the current injuries in his squad, and provided an update on Wan-Bissaka.
"We are accepting all the injuries we had before," Emery said. "So many players we had injured in our process, and we still have some, like [Amadou] Onana for a long time, like Matteo [Ruggeri], which is more or less two months.
"He is coming back and joining us, Ian Maatsen. He joined us, and he is training with us this week. [Johan] Manzambi has a small injury. He is going to not be available for tomorrow, ruled out.
"Aaron Wan-Bissaka has an injury as well. More or less, he will be out for three or four weeks.
"We have enough players. It is not an excuse. Tomorrow we will find a solution in case we need to. We need to get our performance collectively and individually in each position."
Should Emery's prognosis of Wan-Bissaka's recovery hold true, the Congo international will miss a number of games over the course of the coming weeks.
It appears likely that the 28-year-old will return after the November international break, with Villa's Premier League clash at home to Sunderland on 21 November serving as a potential return date.
