Europe's Solheim Cup team has been confirmed following captain Anna Nordqvist's picks on Monday afternoon.
Charley Hull, Esther Henseleit, Lottie Woad, Maja Stark, Celine Boutier, Carolta Ciganda, Linn Grant and Nanna Koerstz Madsen booked their place in the team via automatic qualification, with Nordqvist announcing Leona Maguire, Julia Lopez Ramirez, Nastasia Nadaud and Mimi Rhodes as her four captain's picks.
Despite her struggles for form over the last 18 months, Maguire's place on the team was never in doubt, having only narrowly missed out on automatic qualification. The 31-year-old boasts a formidable 8-3-1 record in the Solheim Cup, winning all three of her singles matches.
Ramirez, Nadaud and Rhodes all join Woad as rookies, with Rhodes providing a solid match play background after a successful amateur career in the States, as well as taking one-and-a-half points from Great Britain and Ireland's 2024 Curtis Cup win.
The Solheim Cup has arguably been more dramatic than its male counterpart in recent years, with Europe winning 14.5-13.5 in 2019, 15-13 in 2021 and tying 14-14 to retain the cup in 2023 with matches typically going down to the wire.
The USA finally wrestled back control of the Solheim Cup two years ago with a 15.5-12.5 victory and are slight favourites to retain the trophy, priced at 10/11 to win the Solheim Cup, with Europe 21/20.
The USA team, led by Angela Stanford, will be announced on 24th August and is expected to feature the likes of Nelly Korda, Allisen Corpuz, Auston Kim, Jennifer Kupcho, Angel Yin and Andrea Lee.
The 2026 Solheim Cup will take place at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands from 11-13 September.
