2026 Mercury Prize: Odds and shortlist

The shortlist for the 2026 Mercury Prize has been revealed with Paul McCartney earning a first nomination.

The prize, which has been awarded since 1992 to the best British or Irish album of the year, is decided by an independent judging panel of music industry professionals.

Last year's Mercury Prize was won by Sam Fender for his album People Watching, beating out the likes of Pulp, Wolf Alice, and Fontaines D.C.

This year's Mercury Prize looks set to be hotly contested, with Nia Archives (Emotional Junglist) and Suede (Antidepressants) joint-favourites at 5/1 ahead of Kojey Rascal, Olivia Dean and RAYE all priced at 7/1.

Paul McCartney is 12/1 to win the Mercury Prize after the release of The Boys of Dungeon Lane.
