2025 Australian Open Draw: Men's and women's singles

The draw for the 2025 Australian Open has been made, with two Brits facing challenging opponents in the early rounds.

Men's singles

First round (selected ties)

Top half

Jannik Sinner (1) v Nicolas Jarry

Cameron Norrie v Matteo Berrettini

Taylor Fritz (4) v Jenson Brooksby

Kasidit Samrej v Daniil Medvedev (5)

Bottom half

Novak Djokovic v Nishesh Basavareddy

Jack Draper (16) Mariano Navone

Alexander Shevchenko v Carlos Alcaraz (3)

Jacob Fearnley v Nick Kyrgios

Lucas Pouille v Alexander Zverev (2)

Cameron Norrie gets his Australian Open campaign underway against 2021 Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini, who looks to have his injury issues behind him having pulled out of last year's tournament.

Should Norrie beat the Italian, he'll likely face number 13 seed Holger Rune in the second round, and potentially Hubert Hurkacz in the third round, with Jannik Sinner likely waiting for a place in the quarter-finals.

As defending champion, number one seed Sinner can't face any player seeded inside the top 31 until the quarter-finals, and can't meet any of Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz or Novak Djokovic until the final.

On the bottom half of the draw, Djokovic looks to have a fairly straightforward route to at least the fourth round, with his only potential seeded opponent before then being #26 Tomas Machac, though he may have to get past Grigor Dimitrov to reach the quarters.

Great Britain's Jack Draper gets his tournament started against Argentina's Mariano Navone and is in line to face home favourite Thanos Kokkinakis in the second round.

Sebastian Korda likely awaits in the third round, with Carlos Alcaraz a likely fourth-round opponent should he get that far.

The third Brit in the draw, Jacob Fearnley, faces Nick Kyrgios in the first round and is on course to face Zverev in the third.

Should Alcaraz win a first Australian Open to complete the career Grand Slam by the age of 21, he'll likely need to beat Djokovic in the quarter-finals, Zverev in the semi-finals, and Sinner in the final.

Women's singles

2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu gets her 2025 Australian Open bid underway against number 26 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova, and should she reach the third round in Melbourne for the first time in her career, she'll likely face number two seed Iga Swiatek.

Defending champion Aryna Sabalenka faces 2013 semi-finalist and former US Open champion Sloane Stephens in the first round, with Britain's Sonay Kartal a potential second-round opponent.

Coco Gauff begins against fellow American and 2020 Australian Open champion Sofa Kenin, potentially facing Brit Jodie Burrage in the second round, should she get past Leolia Jeanjean.

Katie Boulter, seeded 22, gets underway against Rebecca Marino and can't face a seeded opponent until Beatriz Haddad Maia (15) in the third round. Should she win that, she could be in line to face number four seed Jasmine Paolini.
