Such is the standards that Erling Haaland has set himself since arriving at Manchester City, 22 goals in the 2024/25 Premier League term was labelled by some as a disappointing season, undoubtedly hindered by injuries. Despite that, the Norwegian striker is favourite to top the goalscoring tally this time round.

Unsurprisingly, Mohamed Salah is priced as second favourite in the betting after clinching his fourth Golden Boot award in Liverpool's most recent Premier League winning campaign.

Alexander Isak, Cole Palmer, Ollie Watkins and Manchester United newcomer Matheus Cunha are amongst those high up in the odds.

bet365 Sports and Trading expert Steve Freeth said: "The top three scorers from last season currently top the betting, so there’s a familiar theme to this campaign, albeit with Erling Haaland odds-against and Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak half their price of 2024/25.

"Isak’s future remains uncertain and we wouldn’t be shocked to see each-way support for the Swede, plus we could be adding Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko to the conundrum sooner rather than later.

"Liam Delap has made the step up to Chelsea and he has the potential to improve upon the respectable 12 goals he managed for Ipswich during their relegation. At a similar price, Dominic Solanke could also thrive under a new manager.

While there's been support for the usual suspects, it's a player someway down the market who's received plenty of love from punters.

"It’s not usual to see a player at a three-figure price before a ball is kicked finish in the each-way places at the end of the campaign with Dominic Solanke and Patrick Bamford out-running their odds in recent years and bet365 customers have latched onto Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz in a big way," Freeth added.

"He has been backed from 250/1 into 66/1 and of all the win/each-way singles we’ve taken on the market, 40% of stakes have been on the Fulham striker.

"His goals per 90 record is eye-catching and it remains unclear whether the gamble is due to the hope he will receive more game-time at the Cottage or because he has been linked with a move to other Premier League clubs.

"Regardless, it’s a punt that’s taken us a little bit by surprise."
