As can always be said for the Championship, the league remains very tight, with a matter of points separating those pushing for a play-off spot and those fighting to remain above the relegation places.

A plethora of teams have struggled at the start of the 2024/25 Championship campaign, in particular Portsmouth, with Pompey, Plymouth and Oxford United being the three current favourites to go down.

Last year's survival battle came down to a dramatic final day - an occasion that saw all four teams in the running for the drop remarkably securing final day successes.

That meant Birmingham City, who saw off Norwich City 1-0 on home soil, succumbed to relegation as a consequence of Plymouth, Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers all claiming maximum spoils in their own 'must win' encounters.
