Trainer Dean Braun says he is pleased with Willie Go West who is back in work and is being aimed at the A.G. Hunter Cup later in the season.
Willie Go West has not raced since February when he came seventh in the Terang Pacing Cup but has been back in training for the last month and is progressing nicely according to his trainer.
Braun says his charge is bigger and stronger than before and is looking forward to a tilt at the A.G. Hunter Cup.
“I’m really happy with him,” Braun said. “He’s strengthened right up and really matured. The bout of colic he got before the Breeders Crown Free For All when he was scratched really knocked him about. I know he won the Hobart Cup in record time, but he wasn’t the same horse.”

Braun says that Cruz Bromac is the best horse he has ever trained. He has also had some other strong horses in his stable throughout his time, including Corzin Terror and Nike Franco.
However he believes Willie Go West has what it takes to be mentioned in the same breathe as he continues to improve.
“I think this horse has got the potential to be right there with them,” Braun added. He's definitely got the big engine, his gait may let him down a little bit, but every time he steps out he's definitely pacing better.”
