Trainer-reinsman Robbie Williams believes his New Zealand-bred five-year-old Ima Fivestar General has what it takes to go to the very top of the sport.
Ima Fivestar General has been a revelation since Williams snapped him up six months ago and then syndicated him to 17 friends and stable clients.
Winning streak
It was an expensive purchase but is looking a shrewd one as the pacer has already wracked up five wins and a second from his seven starts on WA soil.
In his latest assignment at Gloucester Park on Friday night, Ima Fivestar General went off as the hot fancy and did not let his supporters down with a comfortable win.

Williams says there is much more to come from him and believes the sky is the limit.
“He is still very green and has got a lot of learning to do,” said Williams. “He has got to learn how to race in WA. He is still inclined to race the New Zealand way, which is rather lackadaisical and is a gentleman’s sport, whereas in WA it’s full on and flat out.
“He has the ability and will make it and go right through to fast-class. I think he will need 12 months of racing before we think about big races like the WA Pacing Cup. His major strength is his versatility.”
Easter Cup targeted
Ima Fivestar General will now be aimed at the $50,000 Easter Cup at Gloucester Park on 15th April.
"It’s a 2900m stand," Williams added. "He’s a good stayer and the distance is perfect for him."
