Connor McDavid and company have rebounded from a treacherous 2-9-1 start to a 39-21-3 record, good for 2nd in the Pacific Division. The Capitals (30-24-9) are three points out of the Wild Card in the Eastern Conference.

The Washington Capitals are fighting for their lives as they head to Edmonton to take on the best team in the NHL over the last few months of the season.
The Capitals have been a scrappy team winning by committee. They don’t have one single player who stands out from the rest of the team. Their leading scorer is Dylan Strome with 51 points in 63 games.
Both teams are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games. Edmonton is 5-4-1 in their last 10 games against the Capitals. There are indications that this is going to be a close game between these two teams.
But I have a gut feeling that the Oilers are going to win and win big. They are 11-3 SU in their last 14 games at home. Edmonton is also 13-5 SU in their last 18 games at home against the Capitals. They beat Washington 5-0 earlier this season.
It just feels like Connor McDavid and company are going to win by multiple goals.
