Jack Trainor says he could not be happier with Stylish Memphis ahead of The Race in New Zealand despite finishing fifth at Menangle on Saturday night.
The Race will take place at Cambridge Paceway on the North Island on 14th April and Trainor had been hoping his charge would warm up with a nice victory before crossing the Tasman.
However that was not the case in the Garrards Joe and Michael Ilsley Free-For-All at Menangle when she was a fast-finish fifth behind Majestic Cruiser.
Even so Trainor refused to be downbeat and felt there was a lot to like about the performance, particularly the way she burst for home.

“We were out there to win on Saturday night but it was also about having a horse for next week as well,” he said. “I’m very happy with how she went, especially her last quarter as she sprinted well up the straight.”
The Race is now being touted as the richest harness race in New Zealand and presents Trainor with the chance to return to his place of birth. And he could not be more excited.
“She’ll now fly over to New Zealand’s on Sunday and I’ll fly over a couple of hours behind her.
“I’m really excited about being given the chance to compete in this race with her and I can’t thank her owners enough for sticking with me.
“I’m hoping Mum and Dad can be there to watch us compete at Cambridge but that’s on the North Island and I think they may also have a horse racing down at the bottom of the South Island the same day.”
