Greater Western Sydney defender Sam Taylor is happy to take the job of trying to stop Sydney Swans legend Lance Franklin when the two sides clash next week.
GWS are priced at 15/1 to win the 2022 AFL grand final and they get their season underway with a clash against the Swans at Accor Stadium.
Huge milestone
Key to GWS' chances of starting the campaign with a win will be stopping Franklin, who is just five goals away from the magical 1000 AFL goals mark.
Giants ace Phil Davis is the man that usually tries to nullify the threat of Franklin, but Taylor stepped up to the plate last season when the former co-captain was injured.

He is prepared to do the same again next week but believes it could take more of a team effort to stop the Swans ace.
"Definitely, I don't see why not," Taylor told AAP on Friday when asked if he would go up against Franklin again.
"Phil had ten years of history with him (Franklin) and last year I finally took over the crown, and even when he (Davis) was playing I played on him (Franklin) three times.
"But we saw how well he (Davis) played on him in one of those practice matches, but I feel like going into next week I think it will be more of a team defence than one-on-one.
"I feel like we play our best defence when we work as a team, a group back six, I feel like we'll bring it next week."
Solid pre-season
Taylor originates from Western Australia but has not been back home since November due to the borders being closed. But that has meant he has been able to get a solid pre-season in and has benefitted from it.
"I feel healthy, I feel strong, I'm excited for the year ahead," he added.
