Perth Glory have confirmed Daniel Sturridge will make his first start for the club when they face Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday night.
Glory have nothing but pride to play for following a disappointing season that has seen marquee signing Sturridge play a total of just 93 minutes.
The former Liverpool striker has had his injury issues throughout his career and it has been no different with Glory. He has not figured since picking up a groin injury against Macarthur back in February.
Sturridge is unlikely to stay on for next season but Glory interim boss Ruben Zadkovich is keen for the fans to see him in action and he will start.
In a double boost for Glory, Sturridge will partner Bruno Fornaroli in attack as the leading goalscorer also returns from an ankle injury.
"He'll start," Zadkovich said of Sturridge. "He's worked hard for a long period now to try to get himself into a position to play again.
"He's obviously going to be underdone. But I thought just the quality of the person and the player, the fans would love to see him go out there and start the game. We don't have much riding on the game. We've got nothing to lose.
"So it's an occasion where we can make it nice and positive. Bruno (Fornaroli) and Sturridge up front and let the boys express themselves."
Meanwhile Zadkovich has confirmed that Andy Keogh will start on the bench before coming on to make his final appearance before retirement.
