NBA - US Sports: Sixers looking to finish off Raptors

Philadelphia 76ers forward Danny Green is eager to finish off their first round series against Toronto Raptors on Saturday so they have a chance to recover before their next test.

The Sixers hold a 3-0 series lead and they are 20/31 to win in the Money Line and clinch a series victory, while Toronto can be backed at 27/20 to pull a game back and extend their best-of-seven match-up.

Sixers waiting on Embiid news

Philadelphia are carrying a few injuries and star man Joel Embiid has a twisted right thumb, although he told reporters there is "no way" he would miss Game 4 after the last meeting between the two teams.

The winner of the series will go on to face either Miami Heat or Atlanta Hawks in the second round. The Heat currently hold a 2-1 lead after Atlanta claimed their first win of the series with a 111-110 victory on Friday.

Break could be key

The Sixers' second-round series would not start until 30th April, at the earliest, meaning they would have around a week of rest before playing again if they can sweep the Raptors.

Green, who won the championship with the Raptors in 2019, says it is vital his team secure a first round win at the earliest opportunity but he expects a stern test against Toronto on Saturday.

"It's very important [to win Saturday] so we can get rest," he said, via The News & Observer. "Some guys have bumps and bruises. Joel has a couple himself. I know Matisse [Thybulle] had some, Georges [Niang]. We have a couple of guys with ailments. So the sooner that we can clinch [the better]. It's the hardest game of the series."
