Esports: "seven" heads for pastures new

VALORANT outfit 100 Thieves have confirmed substitute player Johann "seven" Hernandez is leaving the organisation ahead of the 2022 VCT season.

In the VALORANT Intel Rivals Series, meanwhile, Zeal Esports are 6/4 to beat Nigma Galaxy, who are 1/2 to prevail.

Something to prove

100 Thieves had been consistently disappointing in the VCT Last Chance qualifiers in 2021, having lost in the upper bracket final in the North America tournament back in October.

As a result, they have made a number of changes to their VALORANT roster ahead of the new campaign.

And, although many thought substitute "seven" could be in line for a starting role in the team, it has now been revealed he is leaving the organisation altogether.

The Mexican teenager joined 100 Thieves shortly after the team's third/fourth-placed finish at the VCT Masters Berlin in September last year.

But after only a few months of acting as their sixth man, he will now be moving to pastures new with 100 Thieves claiming on social media that he has a bright future ahead of him.

Likely Luminosity option

The player has been linked with a move to Luminosity Gaming, who could reportedly be close to losing star talent Diondre "YaBoiDre" Bond before the 2022 season gets underway.

On their official Twitter account, 100 Thieves wrote: "As we prepare for VCT 2022, we would like to announce the departure of @sevvn from 100 Thieves.

"Johann, we are excited to see your development in what is sure to be a long career ahead in professional VALORANT.

"We wish you the best moving forward."
