Western Sydney coach Mark Rudan has praised the character of his players after they fought back from a goal down to beat Adelaide United 2-1.
The Wanderers are gunning to finish in the top six of the A-League and boosted their chances with the victory at Coopers Stadium.
Early setback
Adelaide had taken the lead after just eight minutes when Craig Goodwin scored a stunning free-kick but the Wanderers came fighting back thanks to goals from Ramy Najjarine and Phillip Cancar.
Rudan was full of praise for his players after the game and says the spirit they produced shows how far they have come over the last six weeks since he took charge.

"One main thing that I've been speaking about was the mentality," Rudan told reporters after the game. "Making sure that if we do go a goal down and it happens, that we are able to pick ourselves back up and stay positive and play our football and play our game.
"Away from home, not many teams would come here and get a result but to do it when you're 1-0 down was impressive."
Reds re-match
The two sides face each other again on Sunday, this time at Commbank Stadium in Sydney and Rudan says he will be able to welcome back some key players for the game.
He now says it is important they back-up Wednesday night's win with another good performance in front of their home fans.
"I rested a few players today that have been playing a lot of football - (Tomer) Hemed, (Keijiro) Ogawa and (Adama) Traore, very experienced players," Rudan added.
"The gamble paid off and we've got personnel to come back in front of our home fans who are building momentum themselves."
