Six games into the Premier League season, our traders have priced it at 15/2 for all  newly promoted teams - Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth - to be relegated.

We take a look at how the promoted clubs have fared so far in the new campaign, and assess their hopes for the remainder of the year...

Fulham

Fulham have been by far the most impressive of the newly promoted teams so far. Propped up by the goals of talisman Aleksandar Mitrovic – the Premier League’s second top marksman behind Manchester City sensation Erling Haaland – the Cottagers lie in a commendable mid-table position.

Widely tipped for relegation at the start of the season, perhaps largely due to their failure to survive on the last two occasions they have been promoted to the Premier League, Marco Silva’s side look a lot better equipped to hold their own in the top-flight this time around.

You can get odds of 8/15 for Fulham to finish as the highest-placed promoted team in the Premier League this season.

Fulham have not only secured valuable victories versus teams they hope to emulate in maintaining Premier League status such as Brentford and Brighton, but also gone toe-to-toe with top sides including Liverpool who they were able to earn a point against on the opening day of the season.

Mitrovic’s goals have undoubtedly been a big factor in their positive start. Scoring a record 43 goals in the Championship last season, the 27-year-old will have his eye on reaching more milestones in front of goal in this campaign.

The Serbian striker has come in to 5/1 from 100/1 to hit 25 or more goals in the Premier League this season, having notched 6 so far.

Nottingham Forest

Sneaking into the Premier League via the playoffs last season, it was widely understood at the City Ground that the Nottingham Forest squad would have to be significantly upgraded in order to compete at a Premier League level.

Nobody could have foresaw the scale of such a rebuild, however, with Forest bringing in a total of 22 new players.

Investing heavily on players including Jesse Lingard, Morgan Gibbs-White, Neco Williams and Emmanuel Dennis, it has not been a smooth transition to life in the Premier League so far for Forest who sit in 19th place in the table after six matches.

The fact Forest have by far the highest xGA in the league at 13.3 is particularly alarming, especially when you consider Bournemouth shipped nine goals in one game at Anfield.

Manager Steve Cooper is charged with gelling what is essentially a brand new squad together as soon as possible, or Forest could face getting cut adrift in the relegation zone.

Should they click, however, there is certainly a level of quality in the newly assembled squad which could see Forest fire themselves up the table.

Bournemouth

Despite an ignominious 9-0 thumping at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield which ultimately sent Scott Parker packing as the club’s manager, Bournemouth have also shown an ability to pick up results at a Premier League level so far this season.

Starting strong with an opening day victory against Aston Villa at the Vitality Stadium, the Cherries also showed real spirit to come from 2-0 down away from home fellow-promoted side Nottingham Forest to win 3-2.

Our traders have priced Bournemouth at 9/2 to finish above fellow-promoted sides Fulham and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League table.

A goalscorer in the win against Forest, Dominic Solanke, could just provide the key to Bournemouth’s potential Premier League survival. An academy graduate at Chelsea, Solanke was regarded as one of England’s hottest striking prospects of his generation and won both the U17s Euros and U20 World Cup with his country at youth level.

Now 25, Solanke has never truly displayed his quality in the Premier League. There would be no better time for this to change as far as Bournemouth are concerned.

Despite Solanke’s potential to get goals, Premier League survival still appears a tough ask for what is a managerless Bournemouth squad which hasn’t seen too much investment and improvement following their promotion from the Championship.
