Melbourne Victory boss Tony Popovic is urging his players to finish the season strongly even though the minor premiership appears to be out of their grasp.
Victory are priced at 9/2 to win the A-League grand final but the premiers plate looks to be a two-way battle between Melbourne City and Western United.
Victory sit third on the ladder following a 1-1 draw against Brisbane Roar on Anzac Day. They are four points behind leaders City with just two games left to play.
Western United have played a game less and could jump over City in to top spot if they win their game in hand.

Even so Popovic is calling for focus as they look to finish as high as possible. He is also keen to head in to finals on a roll and full of confidence.
"We know that we're in control in a lot of areas of how this will play out, in terms of our performances and our results," Popovic said. "We win tomorrow at home, it's our last home game of the regular season, we want to finish on a high in front of our fans and members, and that puts us in a very strong position on the table.
"If we can do that, well then it secures us for sure a top-three finish, it guarantees that and then we can see what else is possible thereafter. But we need to get the job done first."
Meanwhile Popovic is also well aware of the threat that Wellington will pose. The Nix need a win to guarantee their place in the top six.
"They have a lot on the line as well, it'll be tough, we understand that," Popovic added.
