Ninjas In Pyjamas have made a winning start to the VALORANT VCT Stage One Masters Reykjavik after pulling off a shock win against Fnatic.
In their next match at the VCT Masters Reykjavik, Fnatic are 1/6 to beat ZETA Division, who are 7/2 to prevail.
Fnatic came into the VCT Masters Reykjavik as favourites to go on and win the entire event, but were without the likes of Nikita "Derke" Sirmitev and Andrey "BraveAF" Gorchakov for their opening contest.
Consequently, they had to operate with two substitute players and they failed to get going against Ninjas In Pyjamas, who won 2-0 in the Group A encounter.
The Ninjas had to win a South American Stage One play-off match against Leviatan in order to simply qualify for the VCT Masters, but they now find themselves in a good position after the opening round of matches.
In Group A, they will also face DRX of the Korea Challengers and Japan Challengers outfit ZETA Division.
If they finish in the group's top two they will then progress to the tournament's playoffs at which stage the four top-seeded sides - G2 Esports, The Guard, Paper Rex and LOUD - will join.

Looking ahead, one Ninjas In Pyjamas player insisted the team's success was down to focusing on their own game, which is something they will surely now continue to do in the latter stages of the event.
Following the result, Walney "Jonn" Reis said in his post-match interview: "We tried to focus more on our game instead of studying what they were doing.
"Their mistake was that they were doing the exact opposite, they were trying to study the games instead of playing with what they have, especially since they were a new team."
